Yacht Charter FAQs

Can we use devices and Wi-Fi on board?

Yes, but power availability depends on the type of boat and its electrical systems. Most sailing areas have good mobile coverage in populated and coastal zones, though connectivity can be patchy in remote bays and smaller islands.

Smaller charter boats usually run 12-volt systems when not connected to shore power. These systems rely on battery storage recharged while motoring. Many boats now come equipped with 12–240V inverters, which plug into car-style sockets and are ideal for charging phones, tablets, laptops, and other low-current devices. If your boat doesn’t include an inverter, we can arrange one for you—or you’re welcome to bring your own.

Larger boats often have generators onboard that supply 240V mains power, making it easier to run and charge devices like laptops, cameras, and navigation tools without limitations.

Staying online is easier than ever. Most smartphone roaming plans work well in the regions we service. Some charter operators also provide onboard Wi-Fi, but it’s worth checking whether their plans offer better value or performance than using your own mobile service abroad.
