Yacht Charter FAQs

When is the best time to sail in the Cyclades Islands?

The prime sailing season in the Cyclades runs from late April or May through to October or early November. Each part of the season offers its own appeal depending on what kind of experience you're after.

July and August are the peak months, known for vibrant island life, bustling tavernas, and long, hot summer days. However, they’re also the busiest, with popular destinations attracting more visitors—and the Meltemi winds at their strongest, which can make for more exhilarating but occasionally challenging sailing.

For a more relaxed experience, the shoulder seasons—May to June and September to October—are excellent. You’ll enjoy warm, settled weather, ideal sailing conditions, and far fewer crowds. These months often bring steady winds, comfortable temperatures, and crystal-clear seas perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

Autumn, in particular, is a favourite among seasoned sailors. The sea remains warm, the summer rush has eased, and the atmosphere becomes more laid-back, allowing you to fully enjoy the natural beauty and charm of the Cyclades without the peak-season bustle.
