Yacht Charter FAQs

How far south can I sail on a Phuket yacht charter?

The Andaman coast offers extensive cruising possibilities south of Phuket, with numerous islands and anchorages suitable for longer sailing holidays. A typical seven-night itinerary concentrates on destinations within comfortable reach of Phuket, such as Phang Nga Bay, Krabi and the Phi Phi Islands.

With ten to fourteen nights available, charterers can explore further south towards Koh Lanta, Koh Rok and the Trang Islands, where quieter anchorages and attractive snorkelling locations provide a different experience from the busier northern cruising grounds.

More ambitious voyages towards Koh Lipe and the Malaysian border may also be possible, depending on the yacht, charter operator and seasonal conditions. However, longer distances need to be balanced against the time available for exploring ashore and enjoying each anchorage.

At Sail Connections we recommend planning an itinerary around your interests and preferred pace rather than attempting to cover the maximum possible distance.
