Yes, all charter boats come with insurance, and your liability as the charterer is limited under normal circumstances.

Each charter operator has their own Terms and Conditions, which we provide at the time of invoicing and before any payment is made. These documents include full details of the boat’s insurance coverage, including the applicable excess (deductible) in the event of damage or loss.

In most cases, you’ll be asked to pay a refundable security bond before your charter begins—much like with car hire. This bond covers damage to the boat while it’s under your care. Many operators also offer optional Damage Waiver insurance or third-party bond insurance, which reduces your liability and may replace the need for a large upfront bond.
