What’s the best time of year to sail in Croatia?
The ideal sailing season in Croatia runs from May to October, with each part of the season offering something different:
- May and June: Warm weather, steady winds, fewer crowds and lower charter prices. A great time to charter if wanting quieter anchorages, with the bonus of some local festivals to enjoy.
- July and August: Peak summer with hot, dry days and lively marinas. Best for swimming, nightlife and family holidays, but it’s also the busiest and most expensive period.
- September and early October: Sea temperatures are still warm, conditions are settled, and prices have dropped from the peak. A favourite time for seasoned sailors and couples.
Outside these months some charter services reduce operations, and weather can be unpredictable. Our advice: May, June, and September offer the best balance of sailing conditions, availability, and value.
