Can I anchor anywhere in La Maddalena?
La Maddalena has many beautiful bays, but you cannot simply drop anchor wherever you choose. Current regulations restrict anchoring in protected areas and prohibit anchoring on Posidonia and other sensitive seabed. Depending on the location, you may need to anchor on permitted sandy or muddy bottom or use an authorised mooring.
The regulations are periodically updated, so the charter company’s local briefing and the current National Park information should take precedence over an old cruising guide or an itinerary found online.
This is particularly important when choosing an overnight stop. A bay that looks perfect on the chart may have restrictions that affect whether and how you can stay there.
