Should I plan to use marinas or anchor during a Sardinia charter?
One of the pleasures of chartering in Sardinia is being able to alternate between quiet bays and evenings ashore. Around the Costa Smeralda and La Maddalena there are numerous places to stop, although National Park regulations and weather conditions will influence your choices.
A marina night gives you an opportunity to replenish water and provisions, enjoy restaurants ashore and explore places such as La Maddalena or Porto Cervo. Other nights can be spent in quieter surroundings where regulations and conditions permit.
We would avoid creating an itinerary that depends on being in a marina every night, or one that assumes you will always be able to anchor. A flexible combination usually produces the most enjoyable Sardinian charter.
