Yacht Charter FAQs

When is the best time to sail from La Paz?

The best time for a La Paz yacht charter depends on the balance you prefer between temperature, sailing conditions and marine activities.

Spring, particularly April and May, is often an excellent choice. Temperatures are warming, the weather is generally dry and winds can provide enjoyable sailing without the extremes associated with winter fronts.

Late October through November is another attractive period, as the intense summer heat begins to ease.

During December to March, strong northerly winds can occasionally blow for several days, producing steep seas and making some passages or anchorages uncomfortable. These conditions do not prevent winter cruising, but they require flexibility.

Summer is much hotter, with warmer water and often lighter winds. Tropical storm activity is an additional consideration, particularly from July into October.

For most visiting charter crews, spring or late autumn provides the best overall combination of sailing conditions and comfort.
