Leopard 40

Leopard 40 - Bareboat Catamarans

Leopard is a name synonymous with cruising catamarans. From the Cape Town yard of Robertson and Caine, Leopard has over the years been responsible for many firsts in charter-friendly designs The Leopard 40 demonstrates the brand's continuing evolution to meet the demands of today's charterers

Over many years the Leopard 40 has proved a most popular charter catamaran in its class, a boat that accomodates eight to ten people comfortably depending on layout supplied. With its upgraded design introduced in 2018, the craft is sure to please the discerning group of charterers even more.

Enhancements to this successful charter model include cabin reconfigurations for more space and comfort, The redesigned aft cabins now boast semi-island berths, access steps and concealed strip lighting under shelves. There's more overall space than on earlier Leopard 40s, however extra cabin space has not been at the expense of other interior areas.

The new layout further expands on the open-air concept of the Leopard catamaran line. The bow shape helps maximise the interior space, while the blunt transoms make boarding from the dock easy for everyone. With the cockpit on the same floor level as the saloon, the two two living spaces flow seamlessly together.

With all the changes happening inside the Leoipard 40, the brand's reputation for a safe and sturdy craft is maintained without compromise.

Leopard asserts that the 40  "offers more interior living space than other catamaran of similar size, and no other yacht in this class of sailing catamarans boasts the speed, agility, or blue water performance that the Leopard 40 can". With all the advancements being observed in catamaran design and the sheer depth of options now available for charter, that's a bold statement. But knowing the Leopard as we do, it's one that is hard to argue.

"There’s a strong sense that every detail has been carefully thought through by smart people who have paid a lot of attention, not only to the feedback from owners of earlier models, but to the expectations of a new generation of buyers looking for the complete package of comfort, convenience, sailing performance and value."  John Devers, Australian Multihull World,

This boat is available for charter in some destinations as the Sunsail 404 or Moorings 4000.
